Some moments i just want time to stop so i can soak it all in a little more. To be able to press pause on all that’s happening around me & focus on what is right in front of me. Freeze dance allows me to do just that. With our Monday, Wednesday, Friday ministry, Lugar de Promeses, we have been helping lead a kids program for the past couple weeks. It has been such a joy to pour into the children and build intentional relationships with each of them. The program included many different activities, such as singing, English class, games, and a Bible lesson. My team and I were responsible for putting together English classes and games for the kids. They were so excited to learn and had so much fun practicing saying their colors and animals in English(to correspond with their Noah’s ark Bible lesson). One of my favorite things we did throughout this ministry was play the game freeze dance. We would play the song “I Thank God” by Maverick City Music(in spanish!) and it was a full on dance party! There was one key moment from this game that I will probably remember forever. I had a sweet little three year old friend come grab both of my hands and start jumping up and down dancing with me. When the music stopped, we both froze with the widest smiles on our faces just staring right at each other. The joy in that moment was uncontainable and there could not have been a sweeter one to freeze in time. Nothing else was on my mind except for the face in front of me and the goodness of the Lord. He reminded me then to not forget to step back sometimes, to acknowledge His presence, to remember that it is not “just a day at ministry”, to take a mental picture and just focus on that moment alone. Sometimes it can be easy to wish the simple repetitive days away, but when we do we miss out on the beautiful things that the Lord is doing, big or small. So I guess this is just a little reminder to play freeze dance in life every once in a while. Look at all the good He is doing! I promise it will be easy to find if you look for it.
